How to Reset passwords in Gorilla® 4.5

  • How do I reset a password for a user in Gorilla 4.5?
  • I have a new user and need to set a password for them in Gorilla 4.5. 

ANSWER

When you add a system user in Gorilla 4.5, it will automatically add them using the encryption method for 4.3 and older. Gorilla 4.5 cannot use this encryption method, and until you run the passwordupdaterui.exe on the database, that user will not be able to log in. 

Please note, everyone MUST be out of Gorilla before proceeding with the next step.

  1. Click on Start>Computer.
    • If you have Windows 10, right click on Start and then choose File Explorer.
  2. Browse to the following location:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Bill Good Marketing\Gorilla CRM FS 4.5\PasswordUpdater\PasswordUpdaterui.exe
    • Or, if you have a 32-bit system, go to C:\Program Files\Bill Good Marketing\Gorilla CRM FS 4.5\PasswordUpdater\PasswordUpdaterui.exe
  3. Open the passwordupdaterui.exe file.
  4. Click on the three dot box and browse to your database file.
  5. Click on Update.

This will reset passwords for all users to match their usernames.
