Disable automatic updates in Word

Recently, Microsoft has released an update to Word that has caused problems with the macros not being able to delete blank lines in the merge fields.

Most people have not yet received this update; therefore, it is important that you prevent the update from happening so that you don’t run into issues with sending letters.

  1. Open Word and click on File>Account.
  2. Click on the Update Options drop-down and choose Disable Updates.

  1. In the screen that appears, click Yes and updates will then be disabled.

Once it is safe to resume updates to Word, we will send out updated information to our clients.
