PROBLEM
- Unable to run MS Word macro WMPreviewMessageDDE.
- Unable to run MS Word macro WMPrintLetterStationeryDDE: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
- Unable to run MS Word Macro WMPrintEmailDDE.
- This file could not be found. ("c:/users/<username>/.../b2-Itrs.dot")
CAUSE
These errors are caused by Word pointing to the incorrect Word Templates folder for Gorilla.
Cloud users can simply uncheck the Preview box to avoid this error when sending emails or printing, but will still want to verify the settings below.
SOLUTION
- Check your Word settings first to make sure everything is set up correctly.
- Close Gorilla, Outlook, and all Word documents.
- Open a blank Word document.
- Click File->Options.
- On the General tab make sure the Username is filled in and there are two or three capital letters in Initials.
- Scroll down to the bottom and uncheck the box “Open Email attachments and other uneditable files in Read Only view.”
- On the left, select “Advanced.”
- Scroll down to the bottom under General--click “File Locations.”
- Double click on “User Templates.”
- Update the path so that it points to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bill Good Marketing\Gorilla CRM FS 4.3\Word Templates.
- Note: This path will be different based on what version of Gorilla you are using.
- For a 32 bit computer you will use the following instead: C:\Program Files\Bill Good Marketing\Gorilla CRM FS 4.3\Word Templates.
- Click “OK.”
- Close out of MS Word and try the message again.
- For emails, confirm that you are not putting any double quotation marks in the subject line (single quotation marks are fine).
If the problem persists: make sure the View in Word is set to Print Layout, not Full Screen Reading or Web Layout.
