Word Found Locked Fields During the Update

PROBLEM

  • Word found locked fields during the update.  Word cannot update locked fields.

CAUSE

This is caused when there are locked fields in a message.  Word cannot print the message as a result.

SOLUTION

Solution 1

  1. Click on Messaging>Document Manger.
  2. Double click on the message you are trying to send, and click “Edit Single” or "Edit Plural,” based on the version you are sending.
  3. Once the message has opened in Word, select all by pushing Ctrl + A.
  4. Press Ctrl + Shift + F11.
  5. Go to the Add-Ins tab and click "Save and Exit to Gorilla." When prompted, click “Yes.” 
  6. Print your message again.

Solution 2

  1. Close Gorilla and all Word instances.
  2. Open a blank Word document. 
  3. Click File>Options.
  4. Click on “Advanced” from the left menu.
  5. Uncheck "Automatically create drawing canvas when inserting AutoShapes.”
  6. Close Word and open Gorilla, then send your message again.

Solution 3

There may be a graphic, textbox, or other object causing this issue because of its wrapping style.  To fix this:

  1. Click on the object.
  2. Click on the Format tab.
  3. Click “Wrap Text” and choose any option EXCEPT "In Line with Text."
    • You may need to manually format the text to wrap around the object now.
  4. Go to the Add-Ins tab and click "Save and Exit to Gorilla."
