Contacts Are Not Syncing to Outlook From Gorilla 4.5

PROBLEM

  • None of my contacts will sync into Outlook from Gorilla 4.5.

CAUSE

This is due to the Outlook sync settings not being correct.  The sync uses the primary and secondary system owners, as well as the selection rule to determine which contacts to sync. 

Example: If you choose the Selection Rule “Clients-All” and you have John Smith for the primary system owner, and Jane Doe as the secondary system owner, then the only contacts that will sync are those which fall within the Clients-All selection rule who also have John as the primary system owner and Jane as the secondary system owner.  They will NOT sync if they have Jane as the primary system owner and John as the secondary system owner.  They will also not sync if there is no secondary system owner. 

SOLUTION

If you are working with two system owners, you can go back into the Gorilla Outlook Sync Tool and click on the gear icon to scroll through the settings.  Then on the Gorilla Outlook Sync – Contact Settings screen, you can change the system owners as needed.

If you only have one system owner, then you will need to clear out the Gorilla Outlook Sync settings by doing the following:

  1. Go to C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Roaming and open the GorOutlookSync.settings file within Notepad.
  2. Clear everything out of that file and then click File>Save.
    • Note: This will set the Outlook Sync Tool back to default, and all settings will need to be set up again.
  3. Open the Gorilla Outlook Sync tool and go through all of the settings again, but this time, make sure to leave the Secondary System Owner field blank.
