How to Sync G5 Scheduler to Outlook Calendar
If you have had Nylas Sync or
G5 Exchange Sync set up for your office
, your Scheduler in G5 will sync its Schedule Items to your calendar in Outlook.
All you have to do is put the Schedule Item into G5
.
The rest is automatic.
Note:
-
When your Exchange Sync is first set up, pre-existing items may not sync.

To jumpstart them into syncing, simply open them for editing, then immediately click okay to save and close them again.

Repeat this for each Schedule Item that doesn’t begin syncing on its own.
If the Schedule Item is for a Household, then the Outlook Item will not include anyone other than you as the assigned person.
If the Schedule Item is for a Contact, then the Outlook item will enter that Contact's primary email as an invitee. This will typically prompt Outlook to send an invite to that Contact for this item.

When an invitee is included in the Outlook item, an invitation email WILL be sent to them.

If that happens during the syncronization process, it will very likely be a duplicate invite.

You can avoid this by setting the Schedule Item to the Household of the Contact and NOT to the Contact themselves.
Note about Notes:
- Schedule Items also have two note fields.
- The Shared Notes field will sync its contents to Outlook when the Schedule Items does. These notes will be included in the invite that Outlook sends as well.
- The Private Notes field will not sync and is appropriate for internal office notes.
If you add the emails of the people you want to attend the meeting to the Outlook Item after it is created, it will update the “For” field of the Schedule Item in G5 to match the Households and Contacts with the same emails.
If you update any other field in the Schedule Item, after a brief delay, the equivalent field will be updated in the Outlook Item as well.
