How to Move Professional Relationships from a Contact to a Household

How to Move Professional Relationships from a Contact to a Household

The G5 Migration puts relationships on the individuals. However best practices require some relationships to be put on the Household instead. This procedure is the easiest way to move those relationships to their proper place.

Make sure all professionals have a company. Professional relationships are with the professional’s business. Only personal relationships should be contact to contact.

  Best Practice:

  • When you create a company that needs to be included in a list, adding Categories will filter the company to be included in their respective lists.
For example, when creating the companies for the professionals in your database, add the Category “Professional” to them, and a Category for the type of business they are, like “CPA” or “Lawyer.”

Get a list of all the professionals in your database. If you have followed the best practice, this should be as simple as creating a filter that looks for companies with the Category of “Professional”.
