How to Import Information into a Gorilla 4.x Worksheet

ANSWER

To import data that does not match existing Gorilla fields:
  1. Create an appropriate Worksheet with whatever new fields you need.
    • To create a Worksheet, see our Knowledgebase article How to create a new Worksheet in Gorilla. The labels on your Worksheet do not have to be identical to those in the data file, so long as you know which matches what.
  2. Modify the existing data file as and if required.
    • If you need to manipulate the data in your spreadsheet or text file—to correct spellings or remove excess CAPITALIZATION, to combine two or more fields into one, etc.—it may be easier to do so before importing.
  3. Use the Import/Export Wizard.
    • For help with the Text Import Wizard in general, including information on the other fields, see our Knowledgebase article How to Import a Text File into Gorilla 4.

The following information is not specifically covered in the How to Import a Text file document:

  1. Toward the end of the display on the Wizard’s “Field Matching” page, after the Keyword fields there is now a peach colored Worksheet(s) divider. It is followed by a mint colored one with Appointment Profile, the first Worksheet that BGM created for your System.
  2. Scroll down until you find the greenish divider for the Worksheet you need (possibly the last one), then choose the matching data-file fields.
