Unexpected Invalid System Owner Checksum

Unexpected Invalid System Owner Checksum

PROBLEM

  • When Opening Gorilla you get an “Unexpected invalid system owner checksum”, or similar message.

CAUSE

This error generally occurs when something corrupts a part of the database.

IE: A failed Campaign import, or an interrupted upgrade.

SOLUTION

Running the Compact Utility on your database can sometimes correct this issue. In some cases, the ESP code has to be reentered and the database utilities may have to be run again afterwards. If that’s the case, run the database utilities and then open Gorilla.

There are other potential causes and fixes for this issue and are listed below.

  1. When the Database Fixer utility is interrupted.
    • To Fix: Run the Gorilla database fixer Utility again, this time without interruption.
  2. When the Compact Database utility is interrupted.
    • To Fix: Restore to the backup copy of the Database the utility created before it was interrupted.
  3. Windows is set to use a short date format that Gorilla cannot support, ie: yyyy/mm/dd
    • To Fix: Change the Windows short date format setting to be mm/dd/yyyy.
  4. Gorilla is set to open a non-Gorilla database file, IE: "B2ExportHelper.mdb"
    • To Fix: Redirect Gorilla to access the correct Gorilla database file.
  5. In some cases it has been noted that after importing a Campaign, this error will come up (so far noticed with Wilson Campaign).
    • To Fix: Run the Gorilla Database Fixer Utility.
  6. If a client was previously in a partnership which is dissolved and the permanent licenses are reduced.
    • To Fix: Run the Gorilla Database Fixer Utility.
