PROBLEM

• I am trying to print a letter, but I keep getting an error “RPC server is unavailable.”
  
  Full error details:
  
  Unable to cast COM object of type 'Word.ApplicationClass' to interface type 'Word._Application.' This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with ID '{00020970-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)

CAUSE

This happens anytime the Word Process has been ended and Gorilla® is still open.

SOLUTION

The following steps usually correct this problem:

1. Close Gorilla.  Save and close any open Word documents.
2. Open the Task Manager by clicking ctrl + alt + del (if you're connected via RPC try ctrl + shift + esc with the RPC maximized).
3. Switch to the Processes tab.
4. Locate any WINWORD.exe processes, highlight them and click “End Process.”
5. Close the Task Manager.
6. Open Gorilla and try printing again.
