How to Use the Birthday Filter

A person’s birthday is an important bit of information. There are many reasons to target groups of people based on their birthdays.

Open the Birthday Filter

  1. Open the Contacts workspace.
  2. Select Contacts. Households and Companies don’t have birthdays, so you will always need to be on Contacts to use the Birthday filter.
  3. Click Filter Options and Select "Add filter fields”.
  4. Type Birthday in the search field. Check the box next to it when it appears. Click OK.

The Birthday filter window will open for use.

Use the Birthday Filter

The Operator and Date fields can be used in combination to produce many reports revolving around birthdays. Below are the most common uses.

Weekly Birthday Letters

Set the Operator to Between and choose dates from 8 to 14 days from today to produce a list of people you need to get weekly birthday letters out to.

Find Contacts Missing Birthdates

Set the Operator to Unspecified to find your contacts that are missing birthdays on their record. Add the Status Equals Client filter to narrow it down to just your clients that are missing birthdays.

Upcoming Birthdays

Set the Operator to In the Next (Days) and choose 30 days to produce a list of all birthdays coming up in the next month.

Clients turning 72 and a Half

  1. Set the Operator to In the Next (Days) and choose 180 days.
  2. Add the Status Equals Client filter.
  3. Then add the Age field.

  4. Set the Operator of the Age filter to Equals and set the value to 72.
