How to Use Do Not Contact (DNC)
Do Not Contact is a new feature in G5 that can be set in the Edit screen of a Household or Contact.
Note:
- When someone is set to Deceased, this setting will automatically activate for that Contact.
This allows you to keep records of people you want to ensure you never contact again, while helping to reduce any risk of accidentally contacting them.
If this box is checked:
- The person’s record will say “Do Not Contact” in the banner of their record.
- Their name will gain the “DNC” prefix throughout G5, including in custom reports.
- When you try to send an email, create a Schedule Item, or print a document for one or more people, you will receive a warning if any of them have this setting turned on. You can choose to proceed anyway or not.
- If you try to create a new Opportunity or Service Request, you will also receive a warning before it is complete.
- When a DNC record is added to a campaign you will receive a warning.
If it is checked on a Household, all members of that Household will gain the same settings. However, if you change it on the Contact, only the Contacts you change it on will get that setting.
