- How can I send an email on behalf of the advisor?
- I need an email to show up as being sent from my advisor’s email address.
ANSWER
Option 1 : Set up SMTP Settings in Gorilla.
This will require you to contact your mail provider or local IT to get the login information and the SMTP settings.
Once you have the information needed, to go Tools > Options > Messaging.
Click on the “Send email using SMTP” radio button.
On the “General” tab, enter the Advisors Name and Email Address.
On the “SMTP Server” tab enter the Information provided by your email provider or local IT.
Domain will usually be the email host.For example, the domain for George@mydomain.com would by “mydomain.com.”
If you are using a POP3 account, fill out the info on the “POP3 Server” tab.
- Once all information is filled out, click “OK.”
Option 2 : Set up a new Outlook profile with the advisor’s info.
- Open the Control Panel on your computer and double click on “Mail.”
Once the Mail Setup opens, click on the “Show Profiles” button.
Click the “Add” button to add a new profile.
On the New Profile popup. Type in the name of the profile and click “OK.”
Proceed with the Account Setup by entering the advisors name, email address and password then click “Next.”
Once the Account is set up, on the Mail window, click the radio button next to “Prompt for a profile to be used.”
- Now when Outlook is opened it will prompt you to choose a profile that emails are sent from.
NOTE : When you wish to send an email on behalf of the advisor, make sure you close outlook and reopen it using the advisor’s profile you just created.
