How to Make a Rule that Sends Notifications When a Delegated Task is Completed
When you delegate tasks to another person, most likely you want to be notified when they are done. This rule creates that notification.

Go to the Customize workspace.

Go to the Rules tab.

Click Manage Rules to open the Rule Editor Interface.
Create the Rule

Click Add Rule.

Select Task.
-
Name the rule Delegated Task Completed.

Select Modification only. Click OK.
Add Criteria to the Rule

Click Edit in the Criteria section.

Click Add in the window that pops up.

Click Select.
-
Select Task in the first column, then Status in the second column. Then click OK.

Check the Has Changed box.

Set the Condition to equals.

Select Completed in the Value field.

Click OK.
Add Actions to the Rule

Click the Add button in the Actions section. Select Send Notification.

On the Details tab, Leave the Execution on Immediate, and type “Notify person who delegated task that it has been completed.” into the description.

On the Channels & Messages tab, set the channel to Notification Stream and type “ The Task you delegated has been completed.” into the Notification Stream Message field.

On the Recipients tab, choose Roles to open the Field Picker. Then in the first column select Task. In the second column select Delegator. Click OK.

In the Quick Responses tab, click Select. Then add Add Follow-up and click OK.

Click OK when finished.
