How To Fix Problem Opening the Gorilla Database

PROBLEM

  • When trying to open Gorilla, you get the error “There was a problem opening the Gorilla database.  Do you want to open another database?”

CAUSE

  • This could be a result of a hung process if it is only happening on a single machine.
  • If this is happening on more than one machine, the database has most likely become corrupt.

SOLUTION

Single Person Getting the Error Message

  1. Close out of Gorilla and open the Task Manager.
  2. Click on the Processes tab and end any GorillaCRM.exe processes.
  3. Try opening Gorilla again.
    • If you’re still getting the error, move on to the next step.
  4. Click “Yes” on the error and re-select your database, making sure it is the same one that everyone else is on.

If this still does not fix the error, it could be a problem with the database that no one else is seeing because they are already connected.  In that case, have everyone exit out of Gorilla and move on to the next set of steps.
