  • How do I include or change the "Message Subject" when it is to be sent by Email?
  • What does "Pause for User Editing" do?
  • How do I "copy" Speedbuttons from one to Speedbutton to another?
  • How do I create my own Speedbutton?

ANSWER

Changing the default Output Channel

  1. In Gorilla, go to Tools > Speedbuttons, and then find your Speedbutton that you want to edit.  In this example, we are going to use the “Sale to Client” Speedbutton under the “Appt Processing” Speedbutton Group.  It looks like this on the top of the next page:

  2. Open the “Setup Message” step of this Speedbutton, you can do this by:
    • Right clicking on the Setup Message step and choose "Edit Data"
    • Double-click on the Setup Message step, or
    • Simply highlight this step and then click on the "Edit Command Data" button at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. All of the above steps will take you to the "Setup Message to Send" screen. It is here, in the bottom half of the screen, where you will change the Output Channel from "Printer" to "Email." When you click Email, you will be prompted to edit the Message Subject.

Including or changing the Message Subject

You will find that when you click on Email, it brings up the "Message Subject" dialog.

  • It may already have something in there as you see here, but if blank, you can add your own Message Subject or modify what is there by just replacing that text.
  • Once you have added or edited the Message Subject, click on OK.

Pause for User Editing

On the right side panel of the Speedbutton screen, you will see Commands for the Speedbuttons.

Checking on “Pause for User Editing” will allow each step of the Speedbutton that has this option checked to pause for User Editing.

You could add Note text for a Note to be added.

You can fill in fields for Actions.

Unchecking “Pause for User Editing” will do the opposite, and it will just go through the steps of the Speedbutton without stopping for any user input.

This will allow you to run a Mass Speedbutton

Run on a large Selection Rule, or run a Speedbutton on a single CG without any of the screens popping up for user input.

Copying Commands from one Speedbutton to another

  1. From the top of the Speedbutton page in the main menu, choose the  S peedbutton dropdown.
  2. In the dropdown menu, it will be defaulted to “Drag & Drop Moves.”  You need to click on “Drag & Drop Copies.”
  3. Then you can copy a Speedbutton from one Group to another Group, or you can copy one Command to another Speedbutton.
  4. When you are copying Commands from one Speedbutton to another, it should look something like the illustration below:

For this exercise, we will copy for the first four Speedbuttons to the Test Speedbutton Group below.

  5. Highlight “1 st  No-Contact Note” and then click it with the left mouse button and drag it to another Group and then drop it.  It will copy that Speedbutton to the Speedbutton Group that you drop it on. As you can see below:

  6. Just follow those same steps for the next three Speedbuttons.  When finished, you should have something that looks like this:

The two Speedbutton Groups now have the same four Speedbuttons in each Group.
