How to Create Participant Statuses

How to Create Participant Statuses

Participant Statuses – These are the steps your campaign will use. All campaign participants with the same Participant Status are at the same stage of the campaign and will have the same campaign actions.

  Note:

  • When creating a campaign, you will need to create the Participant Statuses first, then add them to the Campaign Workflow.

Participant Statuses

Campaigns in G5 move people along by Participant Statuses. Each status is a step of the campaign.

You need to add each Participant Status you want your campaign to use.

To Add a Participant Status:

Go to the Customize Workspace → Click on Campaigns → Select Participant Statuses.

Naming Convention

The system will list Participant Status in alphabetical order, rather than in the order the campaign uses them.

You can make the system put them in the order of use instead by using the simple naming convention of numbering the statuses in the order they should appear.

Adding the name of the campaign you are using it for can also help you keep track of the statuses you created for one campaign, when you have created multiple in your system.

  Note:

The very first Participant Status in any campaign is the step people will be in when they are added to the campaign.

  • Since you can add participants to the campaign before starting it, this is also the Participant Status they will have before starting the campaign.
  • Once started, participants will automatically be moved to the second Participant Status.
  • Since participants move to the second status as soon as you start the campaign, it is often best to have the second Participant Status be your promotion.
  • Other common Participant Statuses will be used for tracking responses and responding to them.

EXAMPLE:

For the Reply Card Campaign, I need to create the following 5 Participant Statuses:

  • 1-Promotion
  • 2-Holding
  • 3-Not Interested
  • 3-Response 1
  • 3-Response 2

That should cover everything I want to do in my Reply Card Campaign.

You’ll note that I followed both naming convention tips from above in the screenshot below, numbering each step, and adding RC for Reply Card.
