How to Create a Selection Rule for Contact Groups with no E-mail Address

  • How do I create a Selection Rule to only include Contact Groups without email addresses?

ANSWER

In order to create the Selection Rule, you will need to first add a keyword to all Contact Groups that do not have an email address. This can be very easily achieved by running the No Email Fax Utility.  Note:  Everyone must be out of Gorilla to perform these steps.

 

  1. Click on Start>All Programs>BGM-Gorilla CRM System for Financial Services>No Email Fax Utility.
  2. In the window that comes up, you can choose your criteria for adding in the needed keyword.
  3. You most likely will not already have a No Email keyword, however, since that is a green field, you can easily create that keyword from this window by pressing the F4 key once you have highlighted that field.
  4. Once you have chosen all of your criteria, click on Sync with Keyword from the bottom.
  5. Now open Gorilla back up and then click on Tools>Selection Rule Wizard.
  6. Choose to create a brand new Selection Rule and click Next.
  7. Click on the plus sign next to Keywords and then highlight your No Email keyword.
  8. Choose Include in Rule and Must be Present. You can also go through and add any other criteria you need for this rule. Click Next once you are ready.

  9. Enter in a name for this Selection Rule and then click Finish.
