How to Create a Product Opportunity

How to Create a Product Opportunity

There are two ways to create a Product Opportunity:

  • Create an independent Product Opportunity. This creates a Product Opportunity that is not related to a Parent Opportunity. This can be done from the Opportunity Workspace, or the Opportunities tab of someone’s record.
  • Create a Product Opportunity from an existing Parent Opportunity. This maintains the relationship between the original Parent and all the Product Opportunities that come from it.

Create an Independent Product Opportunity

Go to the Opportunity Workspace or the Opportunity tab of someone’s record.

  • It will use the same Coverage Group the Parent Opportunity has.
  • The overview from the Parent Opportunity will be copied to the overview of the Product Opportunity.
  • The description of the Product Opportunity will default to the description of the product from the Parent Opportunity.
  • Any Contacts that were assigned to the Parent Opportunity will also be assigned to the Product Opportunity.
