Error: Computer Time is Behind Server Time
Problem
I am trying to log in to Gorilla 5 and I get the error “Your computer time is 20 seconds behind the server time. This may affect notification accuracy. Please adjust the computer time or contact your system administrator.”
Solution
You will need to ensure that your machine OS automatically synchronizes the time. You can do this by going through the following steps:
Method 1:
-
Click on your
Start
button and choose the
Settings
icon.
-
Click on the
Time & Language
option.
-
Scroll down to the
Related Settings
section and click
Additional date, time & regional settings
.
-
The
Clock and Region
screen in the
Control Panel
will display. Click
Date and Time
.
-
Click the
Internet Time
tab on the
Date and Time
dialog box. Then, click
Change Settings
.
-
On the
Internet Time Settings
dialog box, check the
Synchronize with an Internet time server
box.
-
Select a
Server
from the drop-down list.
-
Click
Update now
.
-
If you get an error, keep trying to sync. (You may have to select a different server, sync, and then select the original server you wanted and try syncing again.)
-
A message will display on the
Internet Time Settings
dialog box when the clock is successfully synced.
Note:
-
If your PC’s time or date is off by too much, you may get an error when trying to sync. If that is the case, you can go back to the
Date and Time
dialog box, click the
Date and Time
tab and set the time and date close to the current time and date. Then, click
Change settings
on the
Internet Time
tab and try syncing the clock again on the
Internet Time Settings
dialog box.
Method 2:
-
Press the Windows key + r and type
services.msc
and press enter.
-
Right click on
Windows Time
and select
properties
to check the status of the services.
-
Restart the
Windows Time
service.
-
Click on
OK
.
-
Restart the computer.
