Compile Error: Can’t find project or library

Compile Error: Can’t find project or library

PROBLEM

  • I am getting the error “compile error: Can’t find project or library” when trying to send a letter.

CAUSE

A common cause for this error is when Word is pointing to an old version of the Gorilla templates.

SOLUTION

Delete and reinstall the templates and make sure the user template directory is correct.

  1. Close Gorilla, Outlook, and all Word documents
  2. Open a blank Word document.
  3. Click File --> Options.
  4. On the General tab make sure the Username is filled in and there are two or three capital letters in Initials.
    • OFFICE 2013 Scroll down to the bottom and uncheck the box “Open Email attachments and other uneditable options in Read Only View.”
  5. On the left, select Advanced.
  6. Scroll down to the bottom under General--click File Locations.
  7. Double Click on User Templates
  8. Update the path so that it points to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bill Good Marketing\Gorilla CRM FS 4.3\Word Templates
    • Note: This path will be different based on what version of Gorilla you are using.
    • For a 32 bit computer You will use the following instead:
    • C:\Program Files\Bill Good Marketing\Gorilla CRM FS 4.3\Word Templates
    • CLOUD USERS: You will point to V:\Word Templates
  9. Click OK.
  10. Go to Trust Center on Left Menu Bar
  11. Click on Trust Center Settings
  12. Macro Settings
  13. Enable all macros
  14. Click OK.
  15. Close out of MS word and try the message again.

If you can't change the user template directory, copy the new templates into the user template directory that word is looking at.
