An Unexpected Syntax Error in Union Query
PROBLEM
- Getting the error message “An unexpected syntax error in union query. # error(s) have been logged.”
CAUSE
- This could be a result of a corruption in the database, namely having to do with campaigns.
- This error may also come from the Current Windows User not having proper (or corrupted) permissions.
- i.e. a client was using Remote Desktop to log into a server, then logging into Gorilla, and would receive this error while opening the Scheduler. The problem no longer occurs when they log in using a different username to log into the Remote Desktop, and use their own Gorilla login to access the Scheduler.
SOLUTION
- First check the filter settings within the scheduler.
- Click on the Scheduler icon within Gorilla.
- Click on the filter icon at the top left of the Scheduler.
- Click on the Campaigns tab and be sure that none of the campaign items are checked. If any of them are, uncheck them and then click “Apply.”
- If the error goes away once you uncheck the campaign related items, then there is a corruption in the database and it will need to be sent in for repair.
- Call Software Support at 801-553-9888 for assistance with sending in your database.
- Once the repair has been completed, we will call you back to help you get your repaired database restored on your network.
- Note: All database repairs have a 24 hour turnaround time.
- If you continue to get the error after unchecking the campaign related items, then continue to step #2.
- Have your IT Department either recreate your username, or verify that all permissions are setup correctly.
