Adding and Deleting Tasks

Add

You can add a new task in any of the following locations:

Home Workspace

  • My Tasks Card→Add Task button

Contact Workspace

  • Select Checkboxes→Add→Task
  • Inside a household or contact record→Summary Tab→Activities card→Add button
  • Inside a household or contact record→Activities Tab→Add button

Task Workspace

  • Add Task button

Opportunity Workspace

  • Inside an opportunity record→Activities Tab→Add Button

Service Request Workspace

  • Inside a Service Request→Activities Tab→Add Button

Inside an Activity

  • Related Tab→Follow-up card→Add button

There are three tabs to fill out when creating a new Task, Each detailed below:

Detail Tab

  • Description – The text that will appear on the list of tasks describing each one.
  • For – The households and contacts involved in the task. You can add multiple households and/or contacts to this field.
  • Assign To – The user assigned to the task. Tasks you create are assigned to you. You can change it to a different user or add additional users.
  • Start Date – The date you can begin working on this task.
  • Due Date – The date you should have the task finished by.
  • Reminder – Allows you to choose a timeframe prior to the task for a pop-up to appear reminding you of it.
  • Status - The current progress of the task.
  • Priority - The importance of the task.
  • Add Attachment – allows you to add files to the task from your computer.
  • Touches – Toggles that allow you to set which SLM Touch Types the activity will update.
  • Note – The detailed log of things that have happened with the task.

You can connect the task with any existing Opportunity, Service Request, or Campaign in the Related tab of the activity.

You can also add follow-up activities in the Related tab, such as additional schedule items, tasks, or documents.

Security

You can apply view and edit security to any task you add.

You cannot modify view security and edit security settings for a task after it has been created.

If you want to restrict view and edit access to a document, you must set it when you add the task.

Deleting Tasks

It is rare that you would delete a task instead of marking it completed or canceled. When you do want to delete it:

  1. Hover over the task to be deleted
  2. Click the 3-dot button to the right of the task.
  3. Select delete
